Years ago as a first time parent I was overwhelmed with a lot of choices: baby gear, baby food, baby clothes, baby everything. There are just so many choices out there. Of course, for me, it helped that I narrowed the focus to green and eco-friendly products.
A few weeks ago, I met with people from Baby ECOS®. The first time I encountered the brand was at a Healthy Child Healthy World fundraiser two years ago. I had never heard or seen it before then. Baby ECOS® is the result of a collaboration between Disney and Earth Friendly Products, and launched in 2012. Now, I see it at the grocery store and baby-centric stores. It’s hard to miss the products in the store aisles since the entire product line has images of Winnie the Pooh. We received a gift basket of Baby ECOS® products during a media event.
Baby ECOS® product line
- Laundry detergent
- Stain and odor remover
- Bottle and dish wash
- Toy and table cleaner
- Here and there cleaner
Although the line was created with baby in mind, you can really use it for the needs of the entire family. During the meet and greet, I asked if the laundry detergent was cloth diaper safe. And it is. For me, there’s no reason to buy detergent that I can not use with my cloth diapers because I don’t have a lot of shelf space to store everything. If the detergent can clean soiled diapers, it can clean anything.
Baby ECOS® products are free from all the stuff that I don’t want in my cleaning products. These non-toxic products are baby, animal, and environmental friendly. After visiting the website, I found out that ingredients are non-GMO. For some, that may not matter at all, but it does say something about the commitment of the company and what it stands behind.
Baby ECOS® features
- Plant-based ingredients
- Free of phosphate, petrochemicals, GMO
- Not tested on animals
In all of it’s green-ness, the products are actually competitively priced. You know how I’m always saying that eco-friendly products are more expensive than conventional products but they are worth it? Just to put things into perspective, the price differential between Baby ECOS® and conventional products are pennies compared to the price differential between conventional shampoos and natural shampoos.
