Family game night is a weekly event at our house. The boys love playing games. We try to select games that are not just enjoyable and entertaining, but have an educational aspect as well.
We received two games from Wonder Forge for review: Who Shook Hook? and Never Land Challenge. What I like most about these games is that they are eco-friendly. The pieces are well-made from durable materials that are recycled or sourced from sustainable forests. Even the box it comes in is smartly designed that there is no synthetic glue holding it together.

- Made from recycled materials
- Some materials sourced from certified sustainable forests
- Minimize use of plastics
As for the boys, well, they love them because they are fun. Both boys are fond of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I have often caught Little B humming the theme song in the car and around the house. Wonder Forge offers four Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed board games. The two we received are definitely favorites.

- Who Shook Hook?
- Never Land Challenge
Board games offer many hours of fun, but they also teach kids about social behavior. Social skills like taking turns, winning and loosing graciously, and courtesy are just some of the lessons learned from playing games.
The Never Land Challenge game also offers an opportunity to be physically active. It’s a great game to get the kids moving about as they try to complete each challenge. This game is definitely for older kids, at least three and up, as some of the activities require certain skills that toddlers may not be able to perform. Kids crawl, kick, walk, and balance their way around the entire play space, which can be as big as your living room. The object of the game is to collect as many gold doublooms as possible, just like in the show.
Who Shook Hook? is an awesome game that improves fine motor skills. It also helps younger players with color recognition and counting. I think what the boys enjoy the most is trying to get Captain Hook to fall; despite the fact that it is the complete opposite of the game’s mission. The objective is for each player to collect as many treasures as possible without disturbing the sleeping captain.
Jake and the Neverland Pirate board games, like other Wonder Forge games, are available at brick and mortar stores and online retailers. Board games make a great gift for young children, and these eco-friendly ones are no exception. Wonder Forge has teamed up with brands that children love. From Disney, to Marvel, to Star Wars, there are games for everyone to enjoy.
