Glass Dharma Reusable Straws

One of my favorite things about promoting a product is the advertising. My husband and I were eating out to lunch and he asked a server for a drink refill. She noticed the glass straw sticking out of the cup and immediately asked about it. I told her about Glass Dharma and directed her to the website.

These straws are so simple and yet so elegant. I know, they’re straws, but you really need to see them in person to fully appreciate them. I love that they come in a variety of styles, diameters, and length. They are also easy to maintain. We’ve only hand washed them using the brush despite being safe to use in the dishwasher.

When I took my very first Glass Dharma (green decorative dots) out of the box I was really hesitant about using it. I was afraid that it was fragile and it would break easily. It proved me wrong. I have accidentally dropped it in the sink while washing, on the counter top, and on carpet, and no cracking or breaking. It was durable. Unfortunately, I left my green decorative dots in the refrigerator overnight and accidentally knocked it out of the glass. It fell about three feet and then broke – cold glass and hard floor was not a good combination. I sent it to Glass Dharma to get it fixed. Within a week, I received a new green decorative dots straw. I don’t know if it was fixed or replaced but I was impressed with their customer service. I carry these straws in the original box that they came in; they really don’t take up too much space in the bag. So far, the boxes have done a good job in protecting them.

I must say that the beautiful bent straw is by far my favorite. I’ve used all the straws that we were sent to review (red decorative dots, simple smoothie, green decorative dots sipper, and beautiful bent) and the way the straw bends really makes drinking easier for me for some reason. I would only recommend the sipper for kids as it was difficult for me to drink from; had to suck a lot harder to obtain liquid. I guess I’m just used to drinking from wider straws. My son loves his sipper and does not have a problem using it, except when drinking a milkshake.

The price point is reasonable for something novel, eco-friendly, reusable, and comes with a 100% money back guarantee. We have not had any safety issues with this product during use. I was hesitant to have my 3 1/2 year old use them, but after seeing him use it the first time, I worried no more. My son has a bad habit of biting plastic straws but he did not even attempt to bite these. I think he figured that the straw was quite tough and would hurt him if he bit it.

Update

A year and half later, we have broken another glass straw. This time, my son insisted on carrying his straw from the restaurant back to the car. He dropped his straw on concrete and it broke. I picked up the pieces immediately and sent them back to Glass Dharma. Within a week, I received a replacement. I really can’t say enough about the company’s customer service…that’s why I’m a loyal customer. I’ve even given these straws as gifts to family.

The Glass Dharma is available at selected brick and mortar stores, online retailers, and Glass Dharma website.

I love the Decorative Dots straw, and I would probably go for the bubble tea size. I know there is a bigger one for smoothies, but I hate drinking a smoothie that has real fruit in it and not being able to get the little chunks of fruit in my straw. This would totally eliminate that problem!

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

The beautiful bends straws remind me most of being a kid, but they’d be hard to carry in my purse. I’d probably have to go with the simple elegance straws in 8 or 9 inch sizes.
