Teaching kids about the environment can be daunting and overwhelming. There are so many topics and a wealth of information out there. As with anything, reading age appropriate books is one way to introduce important issues to kids. We received a set of Little Green books for review.
Little Green books are made with recycled materials with vegetable or soy based inks. These eco-friendly books are also 100% recyclable. You really can’t tell the difference in how they feel from books made with new materials. I love that the back cover of each book has a “Did you know” fun fact about the book topic. I love the message in these books.
These books are a good way to teach children (and adults) about taking care of the Earth. I thought the Adventures books would be a little too mature for my 3 year old, but he has asked me to read them several times. He seems to understand the plot and asks questions while I’m reading. He especially likes the book “What Do You See?” and loves lifting the flaps. All books are engaging and educational.
Little Green Books range from $3.99 – $7.99. I think the price is a good value. Items made from recycled materials are almost always more expensive than items made from new materials. However, the lessons and values imparted by these books are worth the cost.
UPDATE: We have had these books for years now and they have withstood the test of time. Both my boys enjoy reading these books. We loved Little Green Books so much, that we have gotten them as gifts for friends.
