Mama May i Wooden Memory Game

Saturday, November 29, is Small Business Saturday. Although revitalized by a certain credit card company to occur after Thanksgiving, I think shopping local and shopping small should be a year-round effort. Luckily, it’s easy to shop small when there are so many mompreneur businesses out there.

Mama May i is one such business. The online shop is just adorable. Mama May i sells handmade toys for kids, from toddlers to big kids. We received the Make a Match Monster Edition game for review. These are too cute, and the monsters are super fun.

  • Made of eco-friendly material

Little B didn’t exactly get the premise of a matching game. Instead he preferred to play with these by counting them, lining them up, making various shapes. I think he can’t tell the monsters apart yet. Perhaps if the monsters were colored in, maybe in solids or various patterns, it would help distinguish them for little kids.

As for Big B, he was able to discern between the different monsters. We have also used this as counters for math homework, which is a plus. I like that there are enough monsters so that I can make it as simple or challenging for him.

The price point is $21, kind of pricey for me. However, considering that these are handmade, hand drawn, and made in America, it’s the price you have to pay for quality items. There are a lot of fun eco-friendly toys sold by Mama May i; toys for pretend play and as educational materials. If you’re looking for unique, handmade, eco-friendly toys this holiday, consider shopping small and check out Mama May i.
