This post is brought to you by Knott’s Berry Farm.
So much is happening here in SoCal this summer, and I can’t wait to get started. Next weekend, the family and I will be experiencing new thrills and excitement at Knott’s Berry Farm. My Instagram feed was inundated with updates from my fellow SoCal bloggers about the new rides, show, and all that Knott’s has to offer. I have no doubt that the kids, and kids at heart, will enjoy our fun-filled day.
First, there are three new rides at Camp Snoopy. Seriously, Camp Snoopy is our favorite place at Knott’s; it’s where we spend 90% of our time at the theme park. The last time new attractions were introduced at Knott’s was at the Boardwalk opening. Those rides were so fun. However much I enjoyed them, Big B was not too keen on taking a spin. Perhaps he’ll feel differently about the new rides at Camp Snoopy.
Knott’s Camp Snoopy rides
- Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer
- Pig Pen’s Mud
- Buggies and Linus Launcher
I love that the Kite Flyer allows two people to ride together. The height requirement is 42″, which Little B doesn’t quite reach, but, he can definitely ride accompanied by me.
The Launcher looks pretty intense for a kid’s attraction. Like the Kite Flyer, it has a 42″ minimum for riders. I’m sure that older kids will be lining up for this ride. Who am I kidding? I’d definitely line up for the Launcher. There’s something about the illusion of flying that appeals to me. To see these rides in action, watch the YouTube video.
In addition to the three new rides at Camp Snoopy, the Calico Mine Ride has re-opened. This classic Knott’s attraction was recently renovated. Perhaps hubby and I can take turns with the kids while the other is riding the roller coaster. I can’t even remember the last time I went to a theme park with the kids and rode a big kid roller coaster. The pictures just look awesome. I love the details they put in. I really hope hubby and I can enjoy it.
One of our must-see at Knott’s are the shows. Last year, we missed seeing Boom Town, Knott’s very own wild west Cirque-like show. We will definitely make time for it this summer. I have no doubt that Big B will be in awe of the acrobatic stunts. I saw a brief preview of the show during the Boardwalk opening and was thoroughly entertained.
Must see shows
- Boom Town
- Charlie Brown’s Happy Campers
One thing I love about going to a theme park in the summer is the extended park hours. Knott’s is open from 10 am to 10 pm during summers. I know that 12 hours seem like a long time, but when you’re having fun, time flies by so quickly. Besides, you can always visit Soak City next door. There’s a Gold pass that lets visitors visit both parks with one season pass. For our thrill-seeking, water-loving family, this pass sounds like a really good idea.
