A while back, I discovered beeswax moisturizer. I had no idea that beeswax were used for personal care products. In the past, I had only used beeswax in candle form and not on my skin. The only bee product I’ve only used for personal care was honey. Upon discovering Savannah Bee Company® at Expo West, I was thoroughly impressed when I tried their beeswax products.
Savannah Bee Company® sent me the Beeswax Hand Cream and Heel Balm for review. I have to say that both smell so delicious. Every time I put hand cream on in the car, the boys say that they smell honey. It does have a very distinct honey smell to it, not too subtle or overpowering, just right for my olfactory senses. As for the Heel Balm, it has a pleasant minty scent that’s quite refreshing and uplifting.
The cream is rich and smooth. It works absolutely well. Beeswax does not absorb into the skin but does a very good job in locking moisture in. I started using my tube in the summer and have really tried to use it sparingly to last until winter. Now that it’s winter time, I’ve been testing it to see how well it keeps my skin soft and supple against the harsh winter weather and constant hand washing. I’m still impressed and quite pleased with how well the Beeswax Hand Cream is keeping my skin moisturized.
Beeswax Hand Cream
- Made with beeswax, royal jelly, and proplis
- Contains anti-oxidants
- Fresh peach-scent
- Comes in two sizes: 3.4 oz jar and 1.7 fl oz tube
Although the cream looks thick, it’s actually very easy to spread.
The Heel Balm is my favorite product of the two I received. I love, love, love this stuff. I’ve used it on my whole foot, my hands, and my elbows. Similar to the hand cream, I’ve been using this sparingly to test it during the winter. Even though I wear socks most of the time in the winter, somehow, my feet still get dry and cracked. There is a noticeable difference in my skin within 24 hours of one application. I not only use the Heel Balm to heal, but to prevent dry skin. My feet thanked me during the summer sandal season and they are thanking me now.
Beeswax Heel Balm
- Free of petroleum products and parabens
- Tangerine-spearmint scent
- Wide-mouth applicator
- Never tested on animals
- Made in the USA
I was surprised when I saw the wide-mouth applicator for the Heel Balm. I’ve used other heel moisturizers before and this was the first I’d seen this. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not, but I got used to it. Also, to get the balm out, you have to push up from the bottom instead of twist.
One other thing I like about these products, aside from their effectiveness, is that they come in recyclable containers. It’s really just brownie points for this green mama.
Savannah Bee Company® offers so many other types of bee products; yes, including honey. If they are anything like the two I have tried, I will definitely be buying more products from the company. I actually want to try the shampoo. I’ve been on the lookout for new hair care products for months.
