As Little B is getting older, he is exerting his independence more and more. He also wants to be just like big brother. Sometimes, that comes with a price, like when he prefers to use a drinking glass over a sippy cup. I don’t have a problem with that, but sometimes, he spills…a lot.
Kickstarter is a great platform to launch ideas. One in particular that caught my eyes was SipSnap™. I knew this was the answer to my problem of water spillage during meals, at home or at restaurants. Time after time, we have had to request extra napkins at restaurants to wipe spilled water. After trying out SipSnap™, this was no longer the case.
I received the SipSnap™ Kid in Blue Quench to review. I loved the colors; the blue hues are just so cool to the eyes. I like that they can fold into themselves and stack for more compact storage. One of my favorite aspects of having these in hand is that I don’t have to request a kid’s cup at the restaurant, which often times are disposable or plastic. I also bring along my glass straws to pair with these covers, so I minimize waste – every little bit counts.
SipSnap™ Kid features
- Made of food grade silicone
- Free of BPA, phthalate, lead
- Dishwasher safe
- Straw hole fits any size straw
The covers fit over any diameter beverage container. I say beverage container because I have used them over glasses, cups, and mason jars. Basically, anything that Little B uses to drink out of. In fact, the rest of the family has used these nifty little covers. I used them to send hubby off to work with a fresh homemade juice or smoothie in a jar. Big B loves to use SipSnap™ as well because it is just such a novelty to him.
Maintenance is simple. You can either hand wash or put on the top rack of the dishwasher. I’ve done both and the covers have held together very well. You can purchase SipSnap™ products on the company website. The price point for a SipSnap™ Kid is $19.99 for a set of three and a carrying case. Whether it’s on the go or for use at home, this handy cover minimized water waste and kept tables from getting messy.
In addition to the Kid, Double/Double also offers SipSnap™ Tot, a sippy top. Hopefully, the company will make regular silicone covers without any holes. I would love to use them on my mason jars when keeping food in.
