MY THOUGHTS
Design
I was very excited about trying out Skoy. I had seen it around the blogosphere and was very intrigued by it. I absolutely love using it. The material is very durable and easy to maintain. The one design flaw I found was that it shrank after the first use. I wish that the cloth was made a little bigger to accommodate shrinkage. My husband had his initial reservations, given that he preferred using paper towels. However, he was quick to change his mind after a couple of uses. Now, my whole family uses Skoy and it is our go-to product for cleaning. Below you can compare the size of the cloth to a standard pot holder.

Durability

So far, the cloths have proven very durable. Aside from a little bit of shrinkage from the first use, it has maintained its shape and quality. I’ve washed it in the washer with cold water and hand-washed using hot water, and no additional shrinking. After months of use, there has been minimal signs of usage. You can see the shrinkage on the green cloth after the first use compared to the purple.

Functionality

Our main use for Skoy is for cleaning surfaces: tables, countertops, toys, etc. We’ve used it on wood, tile, glass, carpet, and linoleum. Skoy leaves no streak on glass, and no lint like a paper towel would. I once used Skoy to clean a washable paint spill on the carpet. I can not imagine how many paper towels I would have used to clean that mess up had I not used one Skoy cloth. I’ve also tried washing dishes with it. Despite it’s textured appearance, the cloth is very smooth and soft. Although it cleaned the dishes, I did have to use a little more elbow grease to get stuck-on food out as it wasn’t abrasive at all. Also, it was too big and was therefore cumbersome compared to a sponge.

Price
The price is a very good value considering how many paper towels one Skoy cloth replaces. I honestly don’t remember the last time we bought paper towels, or how much I paid for them (yes, it’s been that long). I’m sure we’ve saved so much money by using Skoy cloths instead of paper towels.
