Every February, I usually post about National Children’s Dental Health Month. It’s my PSA. However, good hygiene doesn’t rest. Both kids just had their semi-annual visit to the dentist recently, and thankfully, no cavities. I think my diligence, despite their protest, definitely helps.
We are big Star Wars® fans. Nothing gets the kiddos more excited than anything Star Wars® related. So when we received the Yoda and Darth Vader Firefly® Ready Go Brush™ toothbrushes for review, the kids were beside themselves. They had to brush their teeth right away.
Star Wars® Firefly® Ready Go Brush features
- Features Yoda and Darth Vader
- Large handle for easy grip
- Suction cup bottom
- Soft bristles
- Built-in 60 second timer
Since the timer is built-in, Big B can independently brush his teeth without me having to remind him how long to brush for. I don’t have to invert the hourglass or turn on the toothbrushing app. He can time brushing all by himself. I love that the timer lets kids know just how much time left there is to brush. The green light flashes for 30 seconds, followed by the yellow light. The red light then lets the kids know that time is almost up. He knows that he has to press the button twice for a full two minutes of brushing.
Although the Ready Go Brush™ is ideal for kids 3-12 years old, Little B does use it. The brush head is a little too big for him, but he doesn’t seem to mind. I always make sure to brush his teeth after he does just to make sure that all the sugarbugs are gone.
The price point of the Star Wars® Firefly® Ready Go Brush is $3.49. I don’t mind paying that price at all if it means that my kids would want to brush their teeth instead of constantly resisting to. My only concern is that since it is battery operated, I would have to take the used battery out once it’s drained or the bristles are no longer usable. I could not find an easy way of getting the battery out of the handle. I guess I’ll have to figure something out when I cross that bridge.
