Last Saturday, Hubby took Big B to a media preview of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion, the newest animated series from the Star Wars saga. We have been waiting for Rebels to come out. I always liked Star Wars, but was never as big a fan as I am now, thanks to my boys. It was actually Big B, with his fascination with The Clone Wars, who got me really into Star Wars. After finding out that Dave Filoni, creator of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is the creative mind behind Rebels, I knew it’s a must see.
Rebels follows the adventures of Kanan, Hera, Ezra, Zeb, Sabine, and Chopper (an astromech droid) during a time when the evil Empire is tightening its grips on the galaxy. This motley crew represents all new characters in the Star Wars universe, ones that I hope to enjoy watching. I remember getting so into The Clone Wars that I teared when Ahsoka left the Jedi Order. One of the reasons that I am looking forward to Rebels is because Freddie Prinze Jr. is the voice of Kanan. Oh yes, I was, and still am a Freddie Prinze Jr. fan.
According to my husband, Spark of Rebellion was really good. He enjoyed it and so did Big B. Now, I have written time and again how Big B does not like watching movies at the theater. However, for a Star Wars film, he was more than happy to overcome that fear.
Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion will be shown on the Disney Channel on October 3 (9PM ET/PT). It will be a good one hour introduction into the world of Rebels. The series premieres October 13 (9PM ET/PT) on Disney XD. Now, on Disney XD On Demand, you can actually watch short clips of Rebels featuring each of the main characters. Yes, I’ve seen them all, and I plan on watching Spark of Rebellion tomorrow night.
Are you a Star Wars fan? Will you be watching Rebels?
